WOOT!

Blogger on my phone! Android is made of win. I'm even getting used to touchscreen typing, which is proving a good test of it's deciphering-mashed-buttons ability.

I am particularly pleased with Google at the moment. Awesome touchscreen goodness without buying in to the Apple empire. And I'm not so keen on blackberrys.

Okay I'm done with my massive sqee of phone excitement now.

Weird Prague.

Okay so I'm not going to try and explain Prague. It's awesome, but we have no explanation for any of these creations whatsoever. And some of them were just impressive or incredibly weird, so make what you will of them!

Pretty Prague

The Charles bridge at sunset

Prague's bridges in the afternoon

Looking over the 'lesser town' towards 'old town' and the bridges from the castle.

Out over the city from the castle walls. You can't quite see the minature Eiffle tower on the hill to the right, but you can see the Charles bridge over the water in the far left.

Looking from Powder Tower towards the Bridge tower, with the castle in the background.

Building features in Prague

Cathedral!!!

And that same massive window from the inside:

Stained glass window behind the altarpiece was amazingly massive, and incredibly detailed, which you probably can't see in this picture, so you'll have to take my word for it.

And Prague has a seriously quirky side. I possibly should have put this in to the 'weird Prague' section, but I think that one will be too full already. Looks like a building covered in giant ants? Yeah they're actually giant babies. Seriously, I've no idea.

So that's some of Prague's awesome buildings. As you've probably gathered the cathedral was the highlight, but rest assured there were many, many awesome buildings. I just haven't got time to try and find them all, or decided on the relative merits of them.

Prague is full of many awesome and random things

but the top of today's list for me is definitely an All Blacks set of Russian dolls. Dan Carter had Muliaina and Rokococo inside him...

Pretty picture for today:

Prague!

We are awesome. Prague has an idiot-proof public transport system, even for stupid foreigners. So long as you can find your way out of the airport. *Ahem*

So, we managed to use the bus and metro and then walk to our hotel without any issue whatsoever. I am particularly pleased by this, I like finding the way in a country where you can't even pronounce the words. Four consonants jammed together does not make a word!!!

Mission getting here. Booking a 7am flight from Stansted= bad idea. Taxi to the train station about 4am to get the 4.40am train to the airport, arriving at the airport an hour later, then rushing through customs, security etc. Forgot to put deodorant in my plastic bag, so security insisted on pulling my bag apart completely. Needless to say I couldn't get my things back in to my bag after that.

Anyway, due to unexpected going to the pub the night before, and a little more wine than would be strictly advisable, sleep did not happen until almost 2am...

But we made it! Hooray!!!

Haven't looked at much today due to needing to sleep more once we got to the hotel. But we did find some tasty beer. So cheap here. Soooooo cheap. About £1 a pint. For properly delicious beer. Food is definitely cheaper than London, which is a bonus.

Okay, time for more sleep. I will post some pictures once I've taken some.

London!!!

We went down on Tuesday to do a bit of preparation work and get things ready in advance... as we were driving back on Thursaesday we got the call that we are actually going to start on Wednesday!!! And they managed to jiggle things so that we start on Monday, and have the weekend of this weekend to pack and get ourselves sorted.

Huzzar!!!

Can't wait to get down there. Typically I've booked a holiday (Prague!!!) in just over two weeks time. We will get down there, set up properly, start, then I leave them for a week. My poor workmate will be doing it all on her own! Lol!

So much to be excited about!
New job (well, sort of. New company, identical to the old one in structure and purpose, different role for me), new pay (thank goodness!!!), new city to settle in, new people to work with (actually I will miss my workmates here, they're all wonderful), and eventually a new flat to live in. First few weeks we will be living at work, lucky us! Lol tee-totalling when we have to do our job is just unfair, especially at this point when we're just setting it up and have millions of things to do! Haha oh dear. Oh well. Won't be for long.

Prague in a couple of weeks. And my friend coming over too, yayness!!! Just so much to be excited about!

In other news, you probably won't hear from me here for a while, seeing as I will be busy working and moving and sorting lots of things out. But I will update for sure in Prague. Probably before, I've got a few days off before we go.
